Fairlea Heartbeat Block Party - Fairlea Community Association
Fairlea Heartbeat Block Party 2005
Entertainment included local talent and multicultural music which ranged from one of our members playing guitar and singing, to children singing karaoke with members to a talent show of singing and joke telling. Onlookers were encouraged to dance and did so with enthusiasm.
The Ottawa Police set up a “booth” for our youth which included coloring pages, pencils, and bike safety pamphlets. The booth was a huge success with our youth. Food was supplied by House of Pizza as well as beverages and snack food. Raffle tickets were also auctioned off, prizes to be won including Martial Arts classes, MP3 Player, among others.
Some of the activities included soccer and basketball for the youth as well as many bicycles roaming the area.
The block party has been a success in the past as it brings people together from many communities. This years Block Party is set in motion and in the works. It will be a fun filled day of events, great summer food, and plenty of community participation along with hundreds of smiling faces! Date to be announced. Please keep an eye on the website for further information, flyers will also be posted in the area.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers for their hard work, not only during the festivities but also cleaning up our valuable park afterwards. We hope you will find the time to participate in this years Block Party as participants and/or volunteers! For further information on volunteering please email email@example.com or you visit the website at fairlea.canadianwebs.com.
